New Boston and Donnels Creek, South Loop, December, 1998The photo in the title box shows the south loop of my new garden railroad a few weeks after it was "finished" enough to actually run a train on, in December, 1998. (Click on the photo to see a bigger version.) The section shown is elevated about 18" from ground level, built around a one-hundred gallon pond fed by a smaller pond that would eventually be fed by a waterfall. This picture (as all the others) was taken in December, so the only living things showing are some Dwarf Alberta Spruce and a small Mugo pine. The track shown is the 10'-diameter Aristo, with a couple of straight pieces to make it an oval. So you are seeing about a 14x15' area of the garden. Looks much bigger in person, but in some ways it still doesn't seem like much for all the work we've put into it. :-) [Note: As of 2006, it's a bit more impressive, but there was a lot more work to get it to that point - Paul] Return to the 1998-2000 Picture Page To return to Landscaping and Pond Construction, 1998-1999, click here, To return to the New Boston and Donnels Creek Index Page, click here To return to the Family Garden Trains Home Page, click here |
